Consumer Sentiment and Expectations (Rev’d) in September

Upward revisions for both indices from University of Michigan Survey of Consumers:

Even Republicans/lean Republicans are looking more upbeat about the future in September:

However, by far the biggest change is for Democratic/lean Democratic since July (up 12.3 points).

The above poll results are about a month ago. The latest AP-NORC poll from September 13-16 indicates 46-43 Trump/Harris for this question, margin of error 3.4 ppts (hence, a statistical tie).
