If you count the “top 5” fast food chains by number of locations, the bad man is wrong. Just the top 3 are enough to outnumber Chinese restaurants. If you go by revenue, and include the two big coffee chains, the bad man is wrong. Leaving out the two big coffee chains and counting by revenue, the bad man is right. Subway has lots of locations, but is well down the list for revenue. Starbucks and Dunkin have lots of locations.
Is that good? Bad? Has it changed over time? Is it something to have expected statistically or an intriguing insight?
