Being able to purchase 100 rubles for each dollar should be great news for traitors like Trump and Bruce Hall as they plan their stay in Moscow to kiss Putin’s ring.

Folks, I’m eating a medium rare rib-eye steak I picked up for $6 (before tax) and watching Kenta Kobashi and Samoa Joe pro-wrestling match and life is good, The only thing missing is alcohol, and we’ll get that rectified soon. Do I need a full mental check-up?? Don’t answer that. Folks, I can’t watch Ukraine war footage all day, I mean……… “first world problem”

We’re all supposed to believe kook-ball Mormon Mitt by coincidence chose a city like Detroit to bad-mouth. Now Mitt has a conscience on racial issues??? Hilarious. Just like Liz Cheney, he feeds the monster for years, now the monster wants to eat Mitt and Mitt wants to call “time out”.

Mitt, who are the 43% you were discussing?? Whites raised in the suburbs?? Or the corporations that never pay tax because they’re paying interest on bank loans?? Or businesses like yours in Indiana Mitt, that took subsidies from the state government to close down factories and fire hundreds of people?? He’s in the same group as Gosar and Taylor Greene, Mitt just manages to deny who that guy in the mirror is.

Conscious on what??? Capitalism is Bernie Lomax since 2008. It’s dead. You can keep on manipulating the corpse to make it look alive, but anybody with sense really knows. The Suburbs are debt based scams. Suburban culture taint gonna last forever. Free markets will die. Tribal ways with its tribal planning will return.

Not a Romney fan but this is pretty good:

“Look, there is no place in either political party for this White nationalism or racism. It’s simply wrong … it’s evil as well,” Romney told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.” “(Rep.) Marjorie Taylor Greene and (Rep.) Paul Gosar, I don’t know them, but I’m reminded of that old line from the ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’ movie where – where one character says, ‘Morons, I’ve got morons on my team.’ And I have to think anybody that would sit down with White nationalists and speak at their conference was certainly missing a few IQ points.”

Meanwhile in the comment section here moron Bruce Hall is whining that we are calling out his racism as he supports Putin. Go figure!

5814 protesters arrested and counting. I wonder how many jail cells Putin even has. More protests please. Let’s overrun Putin’s prisons.

This is an extremely dumb question, which if you knew absolutely nothing about the pragmatism of China, you should know the answer to on the basis they abstained on the UN vote. I really don’t want to get into personal insults, but man…….. Read the newspaper if you can’t read a book ok?? Hell, even reading the Epoch Times would probably improve how you look at things.

Was reading some numbers, trying to guess how this is going to go as it relates to Fed moves. They say that China is the biggest export destination for Russia, roughly 15%. But Russia is not a big export station for China, at only 2%. This might explain why China abstained, and why China is really hedging its bets here. Why would China care if a country they only sell 2% of their exports to has a serious economic downturn?? China can say a few words of support for appearances sake, and still watch Russia fry in their own juices without hardly batting an eyelid. The worst that happens here for China is, they get a bunch of cheap commodities on “mark down” because other countries are boycotting the Russian goods. Chinese like liquor for example. And some Chinese like to brag they can afford pricey foreign products. How many Chinese would love to get cheap vodka because USA consumers etc are refusing to consume it?? Just by riding the fence, keeping quiet on things that upset America and Europe, China stands to get a ton of commodities on the cheap. Certainly if the war drags out

I wonder if these Americans realize Russian vodka is now made in Latvia and not Russia. And of course the profits even up in some tax haven.

I think a lot of the ingredients still come out of Russia. I would argue that if you still have to get permission for trademark/licensing and use of production facilities from the Russian government that the profits are still mostly going to Russia, not Latvia. But I am not exactly an expert on the topic. And even if they are offshore, who has access to the accounts?? I doubt Latvians. I think what you might be seeing here is an effort by distributors and bar owners to make use of product they still have and still want to sell, by saying “no, this isn’t Russian”. But again, if a lot of the wheat used to make the product comes out of Russia, and you still have to pay the Russian government for trademark and production rights, how is it “not” a Russian product?? I’m having a hard time making the leap there.

Some very good questions. The news story I heard was a bit flakey and I have not yet done proper research on Stoli but here is the Wikipedia tidbit:

“Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union the ownership of Stolichnaya has been disputed between the Russian state-owned company FKP Soyuzplodoimport and SPI Group, a private company founded and owned by Yuri Shefler, a Russian-born billionaire who moved to Luxembourg when Putin came to power.”

Yuri seems to be one of Yeltsin’s oligarchs who was never a Putin fan but there are so many Russian oligarchs parking their stolen wealth all over the world.

http://www.stoli.com has this on its webpage:
StoliĀ® Group stands for peace in Europe and in solidarity with the Ukrainian people
          #LiberateUkraine
          #StandWithUkraine

Maybe Putin needs to boycott his own vodka!

So when Absolut makes huge profits – you are saying it is the process IP and not the product or marketing IP? There was this weird transfer pricing issue over who should get the profits when this vodka was sold in the US – Swedish manufacturer or the US distribution affiliate. Your claim never really showed up but maybe it should have been.

            pgl,

In Virginia there is state level socialism regarding spirits, with them only to be sold in state-owned ABC stores. Gov. Youngkin has just announced a boycott of all Russian vodkas in the ABC stores, with this involving seven different brands, I have not seen a list of them. Stoly is not one of them, being identified as Latvian. Others that are “Russian-themed” but not Russian owned, such as Smirnoff, are also not banned. There is a Ukrainian brand, Kozak, which is now becoming suddenly popular. I have never had it so do not know if it is any good. Personally prefer the Polish potato-based one Luksasewva.{sp?]
