Notice that, in textbook denialist fashion, CoRev has changed the subject. He was caught making a ridiculous claim about the direction of causation, so he made a snide statement about policy failure – policy failure that he has been rooting for all along. His ridiculous claim is that controlling weather is a necessary step toward controlling climate. He is obviously and completely wrong about the major premise, that we need to control weather in order to control climate, so he is wrong in his conclusion. What reason does he have for getting the direction of causation wrong? Well, he’s a climate-change denialist, so maybe he was intentionally dishonest, or maybe he has just rotted his brain on denialist koolaid.
In a response to Menzie’s original post, Corev claimed that “since 2019” climate modelers have said many models predict too rapid a rise in global temperatures. Corev has mispoken. He should have said “in 2019”. This is 2026, and a lot has been learned since the UN’s 2019 report. Among other things, we’ve learned that warming has accelerated in the past decade, to a rate faster than most models anticipated:

When Corev cited a report from 7 years ago, he skipped most of that acceleration. That’s some impressive cherry picking.

People like Corev have been trying to deny the science since the 1970s. Once the credibility of outright denial was destroyed, they turned to the twisty kind of “I never said there’s no climate change, just that…” denial.
So, just to set the record straight, Corev cited a paper from 7 years ago which expected that some, but hardly all, climate models would prove too pessimistic. Up to that point, climate models had actually been pretty accurate. Since that time, models in general have been too optimistic. The UN has been proven wrong. Yet Corev is still leaning on an outdated and disproven document.
When we hear from Corev about climate change, we have to expect this kind of dishonesty.
“Until we manage every molecule in the room, we can’t control temperature of the room, because temperature of the room is the average of all the molecules.” It seems that someone pees over himself and blames it on the wind.
CoRev has a long record of being wrong on lots of different topics. He was certain that Saddam was hiding nukes. He was certain that the Iraq War was a good idea. And twenty odd years ago he confidently predicted that the Earth was on the cusp of a cooling cycle that would happen any day now. He insisted that temperature observations were wrong because of urban heat islands and pretended that scientists didn’t adjust for that effect. He marched with the Tea Party rally. I could go on, but you get the idea.
CoRev has spent a good deal of his life invested in being a climate change denier and at his advanced age he is unable to admit that he was wrong. Hey…being a MAGA type means never admitting that you were wrong and the “libs” were right. It’s kind of sad.
